Every year, The Home Is Where The Heart Is… annual series has seen iconic frontman Mark Burgess digging deep into the band’s coveted back catalogue to unearth forgotten gems and glittering rarities to perform live year on year. This year, and nearly 35 years since that ground breaking debut release, Burgess returns promising another unique show that plans takes those fans who have stood by him all these years right back to where it all began.

Released in 1983 on seminal indie imprint Statik, ‘The Script of The Bridge’ instantly became hailed as a high water mark of the post-punk movement, before establishing itself as a cult favourite of the Manchester indie scene forever more. With its head turning string of featured singles including "Up the Down Escalator", "As High as You Can Go" and "A Person Isn't Safe Anywhere These Days” sounding as fresh today as they ever have, not to mention the chance to reacquaint yourself with longtime fan favourites “Second Skin”, "Don't Fall" and many more - this new show at Academy 2 will be one to remember.

As in previous years, Chameleons Vox will curate a line up friends new and old to join them for the annual winter outing with this year set to feature the spine tingling siren song of Evi Vine, once of the collaborative musical project The Eden House - not to be missed!

Post punk four-piece The Chameleons formed in Middleton, Greater Manchester in 1981. Fronted by singer and bassist Mark Burgess, the band went on to release six studio albums and an EP, along with many Peel sessions, live records and compilations in a career spanning three decades. With a cult following hooked on their iridescent indie, Burgess has continued performing the material recorded during this time live under the moniker Chameleons Vox to an ever adoring fan base.
