The Box Office is situated at Academy 1. The opening hours are: Mon - Thurs 10am - 10pm Fri 10am - 6pm
The Student Union Reception only sells advance tickets at the following times: Fri 6.30pm - 10pm Sat 10am - 10pm Sun 1pm - 10pm
If there is no show on that night, the Box Office will close at 6pm. Please ring to check if making a special journey.
2 - Patrons whose behaviour is deemed offensive by the venue will be ejected without refund. 3 - No refunds will be offered to customers who are refused entry or ejected from the venue. 4 - Security searched may be carried out from time to time. 5 - No professional ětypeî cameras, video cameras or tape recorders will be allowed in the venue. 6 - The venue reserves the right to change the bill without prior notification. 7 - In the event of cancellation of the event, only the face value of the ticket will be refunded. 8 - There will be no pass outs or re-admissions of any kind. 9 - Tickets are non refundable or transferable. 10 - Title to the ticket remains with the promoter until payment has been received in full. 11 - The venue management accepts no responsibility for acts of wilful endangerment, or injuries caused thereby to yourself or other patrons whilst on our premises. 12 - If an event is re-scheduled refunds will only be available up until 24 hours before the rescheduled date. 13 - Only official merchandise is on sale inside the venue, do not buy outside. This is for your protection so that you will only receive goods of proven quality. 14 - Ticket holders consent to filming and sound recording as members of the audience. 15 - Neither the venue or ticket agents will be responsible for lost or stolen tickets. 16 - Smoking is not permitted in the venue. Offenders will be ejected without refund.
We are delighted to announce that the Academy 1 now has a purpose built first floor viewing gallery and bar which can be accessed by our disabled guests. If you are attending a future show at the Academy 1 please telephone 0161 275 2930 to pre register to access this facility.
Academy 2, 3 and Club Academy are currently standing only venues and we do not have purpose built disabled viewing provision. We will however try to accommodate our disabled guests with chairs/raised viewing where possible. We will also attempt to facilitate an appropriate location from where you can fully enjoy the gig. Please be aware that no arrangements can be guaranteed in advance. Please telephone 0161 275 2930 in advance of the show date to inform us of your needs and requirements.
Leave the bus station on Chorlton Street turn left and walk the short distance up to Portland Street. Turn left onto Portland Street and find the bus stop outside the big insurance building set back from the road. Look out for buses in the 40s and ask the driver for the University. Get off at Dover Street near Holy Name Church or ask the driver when you think you are in the University area. Cross Oxford Road to the Union which is the large, three-storey building with red banners draped outside it.

Car parking Official car parking for the Union and its venues is in the Contact Theatre next to the Academy. Access to Theatre Car Park is via Denmark Street off Oxford Road. Turn right on to Acomb Street and right at end (onto Dilworth Street), over the humps to the car park entrance two hundred metres up on the left.
