'Nina's songs capture an innocence that her contemporaries can't... with an army-strong fan base in the UK, big beautiful blonde locks and a sweet charm what else do you need?'- Notion

'Although going through the pop channels...the rock fan - who's impressed everyone from Ed Sheeran to Example - is definitely more alternative than your average.' – RWD

In little over a year half Scottish, half Swedish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt has won the hearts of literally thousands with her ‘hypnotic musicianship and haunting voice’ (-Acoustic Magazine). Her twitter followers have rocketed above 50,000 and she has had over 4 million views across YouTube and VEVO to date. She counts Ed Sheeran and Example as fans and has toured with both. She has just turned 18.

Nina was 16 years old when she began performing intimate shows across Edinburgh and Manchester and, with a budding interest in filmmaking, posted a selection of her own songs and some beautifully conceived cover versions on YouTube. The response she received was overwhelming. It kick started a roller coaster year that culminated with her self-released EP ‘The Apple Tree’ going straight to #6 on the iTunes download chart and #1 on the singer-songwriter chart last April. She signed to Island Records in June and released her first single ‘Boy’ in October.

Nina, who was crowned ‘Singer/Songwriter New Artist of the Year 2012’ on iTunes last year, is currently recording her debut album with Jake Gosling (Paloma Faith, Ed Sheeran, One Direction). One track has an ambitious plot that involved the singer travelling the length and breadth of the country to record it. Nina visited a range of secondary schools across the UK where over 5000 pupils were recorded performing the chorus with the singer, all of which will be featured in the final version for the album. The track is aptly named ‘The People’.

Not only does Nina’s voice boast an amazing technical ability, it is passionate and emotionally raw, her colloquial lyrics heartwarmingly candid and insightful. As she prepares to hit the road again, it’s clear that this is just the beginning of a very exciting journey for this immensely talented young lady.
