The Lizzies are four lads from the streets of Holyhead and London. The band where formed in the summer of 2007 by Scott Marsden and Jason Hughes. The pair soon drafted in the help of drummer Dave Jones and in January 2008 the final piece of the jigsaw was put in place when the band added their fourth member Jimi Eggleton on Bass.

The name The Lizzies was taken from 1979 cult film The Warriors " It has to be one of my favorite films of all time, and its kind of what life was like for me growing up as a kid " explains Scott. “. There are so many good names for a band in that film its unbelievable."

Managed by ex Stone Roses manager Gareth Evans the band have now started recording their debut album which is due for release in 2009. As a surprise Gareth gave the band a guitar that was used by Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain on the recording of Nevermind. " I had known Kurt through my time in America with

The Roses " explains Gareth. " He gave me a guitar that was used on the recording of Nevermind so I though it would be a great honour for The Lizzies to use on their album. There was always something special about Kurt, and The Lizzies are a special band so I felt it was the right thing to do.

Locked away in the Welsh Mountains of Snowdonia the band are writing and recording their debut LP entitled ‘Know Who You Are’. " We wanted to get away from everything around us while we recorded " explains Scott. "There's something very inspiring about being up here, it really is beautiful."

Taking their time to record their debut LP was something the band always knew they had to do. " We want to create a record that will stand the test of time and be remembered for years to come, and not just forgotten over night " explains Scott. " One thing we won’t do is rush this album because we know every song has to be right. We wont release it until we have 12 songs that are special. I don't care if I have to write another twenty-five songs just to get it right. "

The bands debut EP The Immaculate Conception was recorded with producer David Wrench in March 2008. The band decided that the best way for people to hear their music would be to make it available as a free download. This was a wise move that soon built the band a huge fan base stretching as far asEurope and America.

Described live as Epic and Atmospheric The Lizzies are quickly gaining a reputation as one of the best new bands around. With headline shows already selling out across the UK and a single release set for this coming October it really is only a matter of time before you hear about this band.
