+ THE VIRGINS + RED LIGHT COMPANY

This Yorkshire quintet’s career kicked off by being championed by Steve Lamacq and after performing at 2006’s Reading & Leeds festivals, the NME decided they were ์the band most likely to leap to the main stage in 2007๎. They also supported Dirty Pretty Things during their Spring ’06 tour and November ’06 saw them supporting fellow Yorkshire men the Kaiser Chiefs for several European dates.

Currently signed to Dance to the Radio, their debut album ‘Wait For Me’ went straight to number 3 in the UK Album Chart in May 2007. The success of their third single ‘I’m Not Sorry’ cemented them as new indie favourites and they embarked on a massive tour that includes most of the festivals and their own headline shows in October and November. The last time they played Manchester Academy, singer Matt Bowman fractured his heel after jumping off a speaker stack.

They released their second album ‘Emergency’ in May this year, which has recently been awarded Gold status and are embarking on an even bigger headline tour this December – calling at everyone’s favourite venue for not one but TWO nights on the 3rd and 4th of December!
