June 1st sees Peter Brodericks first major release of 2009, ‘Music for Falling From Trees’, a 30-minute piece, in seven sections, created for a contemporary dance by London-based choreographer Adrienne Hart (Neon Productions) - released on the London-based cinematic music label Erased Tapes Records. Astoundingly talented, the classically trained multi-instrumentalist Peter Broderick's last effort ‘Home’ was an understated, gorgeous collection of ambient songs, featuring very simplistic instrumentation with Peter approaching his folk compositions with a minimalist touch – often just using guitar and voice. His earlier work was much more instrumental, with nods to Philip Glass and Steve Reich. Peter’s debut album ‘Float’ showcased his extraordinary and mesmerising work. He also is an accomplished session musician, having worked with artists such as M. Ward, Zooey Deschanel and Dolorean – and was invited by his heroes Efterklang to join their live band permanently in 2007, so he moved from Portland, Oregon half way across the world to join them in Copenhagen.

Expect everything and nothing from this improvising trio of powerhouse saxophone, over-fx-ed guitar and live laptop re-mashing. One coaxes the saxophone into hitherto unknown territories, another mashes and twiddles away at his electric guitar and a third remixes the whole lot and feeds it back as a quivering mess. Be ready to be moved, awed and inspired.
