SEATED SHOW

Formed in 1997, this highly acclaimed tribute to Steely Dan is now one of the UK’s most exciting live acts. From ‘Can’t Buy a Thrill’ to ‘Everything Must Go’, Nearly Dan faithfully recreate note perfect versions of classic hits from Donald Fagen and Walter Becker in a thrilling show which can last over two hours in duration.

The band play the songs perfectly without sounding staid, their enthusiasm for the music is infectious and it is guaranteed that no Steely Dan fan will be asking for their money back, such is the force of their live show and sheer energy. The line up consists of a 10-piece band boasting the most talented musicians the genre has produced.

Fans of 70’s jazz-rock giants Steely Dan might justifiably be suspicious of a band claiming to recreate the unique sound that Walter Becker and Donald Fagen perfected over a series of groundbreaking albums. But within minutes of tribute band Nearly Dan picking up their instruments any previous doubts will be quickly forgotten.

The band’s effortless performances often leave the audience in a state of awe and extreme satisfaction and it’s obvious that they’re having just as much fun as the crowd themselves. Nearly Dan are well crafted, and have a natural understanding that doesn’t come from adulation, but from something much deeper.

See Nearly Dan perform live at Manchester Academy 3 on Saturday 13th September.
