PLease note this show has moved from Academy 3 to Academy 2. Originall tickets remain valid.

Calm down, just calm down. OK?

Now, you did read correctly. Mayday Parade and The Maine are both gracing us with their scintillating sonority, on the same stage, on the same night. (WHOOP!)

The pop punk splice that is Mayday Parade hails directly from Florida, and are a melding of two former bands - Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment. It was in 2006, with the release of their debut EP Tales Told by Dead Friends, that heads really started to turn their way – 20,000 records sold with no record label buttress. They were heading for big things. And so it was no surprise when their debut studio album A Lesson in Romantics, was received to great critical acclaim and earned them an unfaltering fan base for life.

In 2007 the band’s vocalist, Jason Lancaster took the decision to part ways with Mayday Parade. He was rapidly replaced by Derek Saunders who quickly found his feet in the line-up and the newly refreshed band released Anywhere But Here, their second studio album in 2009.

The Maine burst out of the mudanity that was the Arizonian music scene, in 2007. And boy, did they mix things up. Having already scored tours with the likes of Good Charlotte and All Time Low, these guys are effortlessly collating support – you folks just can’t bloomin’ well get enough can you? Well greedy-guts, here you are, fresh from the studio, smelling of microphones and recording equipment and all that jazz: The Maine are back and feistier than ever. After the success of their debut album, Can’t Stop Won’t Stop, they are brandishing copies of this years offering, Black and White for you to fill your faces with. It’s full of clever lyrics and catchy riffs, heart felt heart break and crunchy chords, and they’re bringing it all to this live show just for you. OK, you and your pals. But no one else. Promise.

Come be blown away by this co-headlined bonanza on Wednesday 6th October at Manchester Academy 2.
