Marina & The Diamonds is the stage name of Marina Diamandis, a Welsh-born solo artist. The Diamonds are considered to be her fans rather than the backing group. She rose to fame after reaching number two on the BBC Sound of 2010 poll. Her musical style ranges from keyboard-based ballads to more up-tempo new wave-style songs with full band backing.

After releasing one private extended play, Marina released The Crown Jewels EP in 2009, which featured her second hit single I Am Not A Robot. Marina’s eagerly anticipated debut album The Family Jewels is due for release on 22nd February 2010. The song Hollywood was released on 1st February.

She's the complete songwriter/performer. 50% Greek, 50%Welsh, 100% frolicking fairytale creature. A girl with virtually no musical schooling, for whom heart scorching choruses miraculously seem to appear at the tips of her fingers with each preposterous limb fling.
