Happiness Is The Road 2008

British rock group Marillion formed in 1979 in their hometown of Buckinghamshire. The band are strong purveyors of powerful, soulful and moving music, whose mesmerising live shows leave their audience breathless.

Marillion’s lead singer Fish left the band in 1988 after being involved in the production of their first four albums. Steve Hogarth, former member of the Europeans replaced Fish and brought with him a new energy to the group. Marillion’s line up now consists of Steve Hogarth (vocals), Mark Kelly (keyboards), Pete Trewavas (bass) and Ian Mosely (drums).

As a band they have forged into new musical territories and are always both inventive and emotional. In 1999 after the release of ‘Marillion.Com’ the band created ‘Intact’, their own record label, which allowed the band to be free from record company pressures and produce some of the finest music of their career.

Marillion have released a total of fourteen full-length studio albums to date, their latest, titled ‘Somewhere Else’ (2007) could quite easily be the release to bring the band the widespread global recognition they deserve. The band have evolved into a vibrant musical force, they are truly something special and definitely not a band to miss out on.

The band has currently been working on their fifteenth studio album, which is to be titled ‘Happiness Is The Road’. The album will be available in a double disc format and is scheduled for release sometime later this year.

Marillion will be performing live at Manchester Academy on Friday 14th November.
