+ THE LINES Little Man Tate is a four-piece indie band hailing from Sheffield, England. The band formed in 2005 and is named after the film Little Man Tate that stars Jodie Foster as the mother of a child genius. After performing locally, the band soon began attracting a lot of interest from several record labels, in no time at all; Little Man Tate found themselves receiving plaudits from The Guardian and Rolling stone magazine. In March 2006, the band signed to V2 Records, later parting ways in November 2007. The band’s fifth single, titled ‘Sexy In Latin’ (January 2007) became their highest charting single to date, entering the official UK charts at number twenty. Shortly after the release of this single the band released their debut album ‘About What You Know’. Regardless of comparisons to The Artic Monkeys, Little Man Tate clearly has their own individual sound. Their debut album is brimming with catchy unforgettable tunes that demand any listener to get up and dance. They clearly enjoy what they are doing and so does any one who comes to watch them perform. Little Man Tate will be performing live at Manchester Academy 2 on Monday 19th May. |
