Piano based rock band Jack’s Mannequin hail from Orange County, California and is a side project of Andrew McMahon, originally from Something Corporate. The band formed in 2004 and released their debut album in August 2005.

With Jack’s Mannequin, McMahon was able to take a much more therapeutic approach to writing, resulting in a more personal and intimate testament to his song writing ability. His songs deal with ‘coming home, and having home be way different than’ he ‘remembered it...abandoning a lot of people, and things, that’ he ‘had normally been so attached to, exploring and being ok with’ himself ‘and not having to make excuses for who’ he is, as he explained in a recent interview. Although he originally intended to simply record the songs, they really began to take shape collectively. He funded the production of the record himself, which eventually led to a record deal with Maverick Records.

‘Everything In Transit’ Jack Mannequin’s debut album received very positive reviews from both fans and critics alike and secured the band with a very strong and devoted fan base.

The band began recording their sophomore album in the summer of 2007. ‘The Glass Passenger’ saw its release in September 2008, preceded by the release of ‘The Ghost Overground’ EP and the ‘In Valleys’ EP. Released on new label Sire, the album debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200 charts. ‘The Glass Passenger’ is a candid portrait of survival that reunites McMahon with the piano rock of his old band Something Corporate.
