Two-man synth-pop band I Was A Cub Scout consists of members William Bowerman and Todd Marriott. The music of I Was A Cub Scout began in 2006 when the band consisted solely of Todd Marriott. Marriott employed the use of a drum machine in order to create their sound before Bowerman joined him in mid 2006, he has played the drums ever since. As a duo the band spent around six months playing at local venues and house parties garnering new fans with each performance. They also maximized their exposure by touring extensively and performing at 2007’s Carling and Download festival. The duo has also toured alongside DARTZ! Forward Russia and Kill Hannah. I Was A Cub Scout released their debut album titled ‘I Want You To Know That There Is Always Hope’ in February this year. The album, produced by Hugh Padgham, is filled with enticing texture, with an atmospheric feel to each and every track. I Was A Cub Scout are currently on tour and will be performing live at Manchester Academy 3 on Sunday 8th June. The band’s new single, titled ‘The Hunter’s Daughter’ is scheduled for release on June 16th. |
