Glenn Tilbrook is probably best known as the songwriter and front man of Squeeze. Their 1978 hit single ‘Take Me I’m Yours’ was followed by a steady stream hits.

Outside of Squeeze, Tilbrook has played and sung on records by Elvis Costello and Aimee Mann and on Mark Knopfler's current solo album. Songs he has co-written with Chris Difford have been covered by the likes of Sting, Joe Cocker and Grandmaster Flash. He produced the ‘Smithereens’ album for Nick Harper in 1997, which was released on his newly formed Quixotic Records label, and in 2000 executively produced the widely acclaimed ‘Harperspace’ for Nick, also on Quixotic.

2001 saw the release of Tilbrook’s long awaited first solo release ‘The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook’, which was received with great acclaim worldwide. Following very successful and extensive world tours to support this release Tilbrook went straight back into the studio to complete a follow up record. These sessions resulted in the release of his sophomore, ‘Transatlantic Ping Pong’, released in May 2004. The album is the latest chapter in a rich history that spans Squeeze’s explosion out of the late seventies new Wave movement to their continued presence on the radio.

Tilbrook has perfected a signature style marked by brilliant melodic invention, cheeky humour and slice-of-life pathos, all wrapped up with unshakeable hooks and his golden boy tenor. He co-wrote some of the songs for his solo recordings with artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Chris Braide and Aimee Mann.

In 2006 the documentary ‘Glenn Tilbrook: One For The Road’ was released. The film follows Tilbrook intimately on his November 2001 tour across America.

In 2007, Squeeze reformed for the third time. Tilbrook embarked upon the tour along with his long-time partner Chris Difford and former Squeeze bassist John Bentley.

Glenn Tilbrook will be performing live at Manchester Club Academy, joined by his touring band The Fluffers on Sunday 12th October
