+ Turisas

English power metal band Dragonforce formed in London in 1999. The group is known for its fast paced songs, twin guitar solos and incorporation of electronic sound effects into their music.

The band formed from the ashes of the band Demoniac and were initially known as Dragonheart but later changed their name to Dragonforce in order to avoid possible issues with the Brazilian band Dragonheart.

The current line up of Dragonforce consists of members Herman Li (lead/rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Sam Totman (lead/rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Z P Theart (lead vocals), Vadim Pruzhanov (keyboard, backing vocals), Dave Mackintosh (drums, percussion, backing vocals) and Frederic Leclercq (bass, backing vocals).

The band achieved immediate success with their single ‘Starfire’ from their debut album ‘Valley Of The Damned’ (2003). Since then the band has released two more full-length studio albums; 2004’s ‘Sonic Firestorm’ and 2006’s ‘Inhuman Rampage’. They have also toured extensively and performed alongside other such acts as Helloween, W.A.S.P and Iron Maiden. In 2005 Dragonforce signed to Roadrunner Records.

A new Dragonforce album, titled ‘Ultra Beatdown’ is scheduled for release on August 25th this year. The album will be followed by an extensive tour throughout Septemebr and October with support from Finnish metal act Turisas.

Dragonforce will be performing live at Manchester Academy on Friday 26th September.
