Chantel McGregor began her musical career at the tender age of three playing on an acoustic guitar before graduating to electric at seven and by the age of twelve she began taking part in sessions at the Melborn Hotel in Bradford. Her incredible talent on the guitar led a major label to advise her to adjust her style to avoid intimidating other male artists, advise that was brazenly dismissed.

Chantel’s accolades in her field are outstanding; she became the youngest person to gain a Rockschool grade, an establishment set up to provide a classical grading system for contemporary musicians. She is now qualified at Grade Eight and received 18 distinctions at Leeds College of music becoming the first person in the College’s history to receive 100% in her exams.

Despite all her achievements, to properly experience her talent Chantel needs to be seen live, playing as the rock/blues band The Chantel McGregor Band she has toured extensively delivering her raw sound all over the country. Her sets include an array of guitar classics including Jimi Hendrix and Led Zepplin in addition to her own work. After seeing Chantel play, one reporter was moved to say ‘I often use superlatives to describe great musicians but nobody deserves them more than this band!’

The Chantel McGregor Band will be performing live at Manchester Academy 3 on Friday 3rd December.
