Do you like to shake it? Wiggle it? Own the dance floor? Well you are in for a treat of major proportions. Early this summer we are bringing you the blistering beats of Cascada – something to get your booty shakin’ and your dancing shoes all warmed up for a long, hot summer of clubbing.
Cascada formed back in 2004, and are fronted by the ferocious vocalist Natalie Horler. Close behind her are the writing and production duo DJ Manian and Yanou. All three members of Cascada are German and there’s a definite sense of upbeat euro-pop influencing their sound. Horler belts out tunes with endless energy and pretty much is the new face of electro pop. ‘Evacuate The Dancefloor’ was the unavoidable hit of 2009 – globally. It seems impossible not to mention the itsy-bitsy fact that ‘Evacuate’ managed to keep Michael Jackson off the number one spot after his death. Could there be a more credible way to demonstrate the immensity of a dance track than that? In a word, no.
So Cascada have out-done MJ, and sold over 15 million records worldwide. They’re doing something right. They are a group who have managed to move with the times, updating their sound and with it, engaging more and more people with their floor-fillers. Having been compared to Lady Gaga and Britney, Horler is on to a good thing.
Come and whet your clubbing appetite at Manchester Academy on Saturday June 18th. |
